Who We Are
We are a company of home-grown locals from Upshur and Randolph Counties. We are passionate about helping local people thrive within the community.
The company was named after Missy’s grandparents, Dayton and Kathy Howes. Her grandfather was a fiddle maker and house builder extraordinaire; he drove every nail in his house. Her grandmother was a legal secretary and one of the smartest and organized women around. She made the best pecan pie, brown beans and cornbread. Grandpa played the fiddle and Grandma played the piano. Grandpa could play music by ear and Grandma could only play music by reading it. They both were incredibly kind and brought a smile to anyone in their presence. When her grandparents reached their eighties, they needed extra assistance in everyday life and did not want to go to a nursing home. Her family was able to help them meet this goal, but it took more than just the family members. It required knowledge of programs that are available to assist elderly and disabled folks. The care that Missy’s grandparents desired would not have been possible without a compassionate team of people and their dedicated resources.
Aging does not have to be hard and should not be hard. Love should be involved in all aspects of life no matter the age or disability.
Missy’s grandparents aged with grace, compassion and dignity. It took a community of people for them to achieve this though. It is the goal of Howes Aging Services, LLC to help disabled and elderly people age with grace, compassion and dignity, just like her grandparents did.
